What do you think of this for an engagement ring?

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 | Weddings | 11 Comments

Stephanie Y asked:

My boyfriend told me that we will be getting engaged soon and to start looking at rings so I can let him know what I like. I had the idea of an aquamarine engagement ring because we started dating in March and it is March’s birth stone. Do you like that idea? I feel like it would mean more than a diamond would and I have always liked that stone. So, what do you think? I am just curios about opinions. Thanks!

Engagement ring and wedding band?

Monday, December 27th, 2010 | Weddings | 9 Comments

Nicole H asked:

I have a beautiful engagement ring that has diamonds on both sides. I’m unsure as to what type of wedding band I should get because I don’t want the wedding band to cover up the side diamonds. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, due to not wanting to disturb the side diamonds, I probably would not fuse the two rings.
A plain band would work but I just don’t want anything to cover up the side diamonds.
Yes, slickmic it’s kind of like that picture, but the diamonds don’t protrude out the side. Thanks for your input!

Does Anyone Offer Engagement Ring Financing?

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010 | Fashion & Accessories | 1 Comment

Does anyone know of places that can sell engagement rings on some type of credit or payment plan. I have some money saved up, but not enough to buy the type of ring I think my fiance deserves so I’m looking for a payment plan kind of financing that I can use a down payment like buying a car. Thanks!

Is $3800 for a.75 carat EGL certified solitaire engagement ring too expensive?

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010 | Weddings | 10 Comments

KarLi asked:

Specifics: Brilliant round cut, canadian diamond, EGL certified, VS, H color, platinum band with a .75 carat diamond.

Backround story: he went to buy a me an engagement ring when I told him I didn’t need one. I’m already very happy with us getting married and buying a house. I just don’t see spending that much money when we ARE getting married anyway. He keeps telling me I deserve one. Don’t get me wrong it’s beautiful and I really appreciate it, but I just think it’s too expensive for a ring.

So, any diamond/engagement ring experts out there?

What is a fair price for this diamond?

Saturday, November 13th, 2010 | Weddings | 10 Comments

Tom P asked:

Hi everyone,

I’m planning on upgrading the diamond on my wife’s engagement ring. I’ve been offered this diamond from the jeweler I bought the original ring from:

1.01 ct
G color
SI2 clarity
Round Brilliant
EGL Certificate

Does $5650 seem like a reasonable price for this stone?

Thanks!

Should I purchase a ring from them? What should I know before I buy a ring from a jewelry store? What should I look for???

Question regarding transporting diamonds to foreign countries?

Monday, November 1st, 2010 | Weddings | 3 Comments

Schmoe asked:

Hello,

I plan to propose to my girlfriend in a foreign country which means that I will need to bring the diamond engagement ring with me. Do I need to worry about carrying proof of purchase and appraisal with me to the airports in case they think I’m smuggling diamonds? My girlfriend will be there with me and I don’t want her to see the ring before I propose to her.

Thanks

What exactly can a 3-stone diamond ring be used for?

Monday, October 4th, 2010 | Weddings | 26 Comments

Jimmy asked:

I wanted to buy my girlfriend a 3-stone diamond ring instead of a promise ring because I havent seen any promise rings that liked. I like the 3-stone diamonds because they use bigger diamonds, and the just look a lot better than promise rings. MY question is… is it okay for me to give her a 3-stone diamond ring even though we arent even engaged yet? OR is it mainly for married couples? Can i use it as a promise of engagement like a promise ring? Because i know the 3-stone stands for “PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE”… Thanks!

Engagement ring diamonds: How small is too small? And how big is too big?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010 | Weddings | 18 Comments

Tchau Bela asked:

And, how big is your center stone?

Engagement rings need not always contain diamonds. Popular trends include using gemstones as sidestones as well as other precious stones.
