Has anyone bought an engagement ring diamond online? If so, what has been your experience?

diamond engagement rings
tacnerd asked:

I went looking for rings for my girlfriend and became educated on what I want. At the store I was looking through a print out of her dealers inventory, because they did not have the specific size, clarity, color, etc. at the store. Then I thought, why can’t I just do this online? As long as its approved by the American Gemological Association whats the difference right?

I never have, but with something as precious as an engagement ring diamond, I wouldn’t take my chances buying it online. If you’re bent on buying it online, try googling this company’s name and see if any negative info. comes up. Honestly, I’ve purchased items online and when I receive them they are nothing like the seller claimed. Of course, it wasn’t a diamond, but it’s up to you.
Good luck!

I looked online, tried to find reviews for good place. I bought at and had the ring set locally. My wife was very happy, I was able to save more than I could in NYC and I trusted the online site more.

There is a site that reviews different online jewelers, they also recommend.

Go to the diamondhelpers website and take a look at the reviews.

It maybe a little scary but for the money I save it was worth it. Had the ring re-appraised for insurance, I told him just to do replacement cost not to inflate it. Almost double in value in 3 years or at least trying to replace it at a local jeweler.

Engagement rings need not always contain diamonds. Popular trends include using gemstones as sidestones as well as other precious stones.
