Get the jeweler to put that amount in writing because usually an independent appraiser will appraise for much less.

sell it to the jeweler that gave you the estimate, or go to a diamond district

there is alot of fools out there who dont care how much they spend. so that looks good for 3 months salary cost estimation! lol…enough for an engagement ring!

dont overboard too much on price and u will get alot of customers!

Is it your engagement ring? If someone gave it to you, it is proper to give it back.

go to a pawn shop and from there they will measure it there just in case, im pretty sure the pan shops a great choice i went there to sell a bracelet and they measured how many carrots or weight.. something like that and they told me how much it was worth and they said if i wanted to take it or not but im pretty sure they would get something estimated around that if not ask to estimate again if not someone else who works there

sell it at ebay but use a restricted price to ensure that you get the most for it!
unfortunately , the retail business for diamonds it’s horrible!! depends of the quality , brilliance, and even certification you can provide
pawn shops will rip you up and down!! stay away from them. you can alway place an add in your local newspaper
good luck

Try and jewelry store or eBay but if you were to sell it on eBay make sure u have it apprised before. Getting is apprised is about 50 dollars. DO NOT go to a pawn shop they wont give you the amount it is worth.

EBay is going to be the first thing that comes to mind when selling used jewelry. Have an appraisal in hand as bidders will be more comfortable spending more money if they can see a professional estimate of what the diamond ring is worth. Be sure to check and see what the fees for selling your diamond ring will be as this will cut into your bottom line.

Before you listed on eBay check with all your friends to be sure that nobody is going to need a nice diamond engagement ring anytime soon. With individual sales there are no fees and as they get to inspect the ring before they buy you might get a higher price.

Another option might be to advertise it locally in one of the trade magazines, again no fees and the opportunity for the buyer to inspect the piece and view your appraisal might raise the price a bit and every penny counts!

Engagement rings need not always contain diamonds. Popular trends include using gemstones as sidestones as well as other precious stones.
