The bf and I are starting to look into engagement rings and i caame across diamondssuck.com… and I was enlightened to the world of moissanite stones… I’ve done a little research and there are strong arguments from both sides… I’d like to hear from someone who actually has moissanite jewelry, if possible…. does it really look and sparkle like a diamond?? A few years ago I got a ‘promise ring’ from my boyfriend, it is very simple with small diamonds in it. I love it, but there are hundreds of rings out there just like it.

We have been discussing marriage and looking at rings lately, and I have come to decide that I dont really want a diamond engagement ring!

We have decided on the ring (mostly), I got to help with some of the major decisions, and now he is tweaking it to make it a special and unique ring. We are having the engagement ring and wedding bands both custom made by a wonderful jeweler. We have chosen a gemstone (tourmaline) that has significant meaning to both of us, and the particular stone we have on hold is beautiful!

I know the ring doesnt make the marriage, nor does the stone. But does anyone else have a non traditional ring? What do people have to say about it? Are you always explaining the ring?

Even though I thing diamond rings are beautiful, I just want something different then the regular ring all my friends have recieved when they got engaged.

I’m thinking of something with a halo of small diamond around the outside with a cushion cut stone in the middle. I dont have any colour preferences really so far.

Any idea one what I can get in the middle?
