diamond engagement rings
km asked:

In addition to non-diamond rings that are just diamond-like, are there also rings that, for instance, come with a certificate that part of the proceeds go to fighting the evils of the diamond trade?

well, if you want to do an engagement ring, I suggest getting on that has a cool design with no gems. Like one that is twisted or has hearts in it. Just look around! But if you dont want to get a ring, you could go for a bracelet with the same concept as the ring.

lol! good luck on fighting the evils of the diamond trade!

check out somewhere whose diamonds go through KPCS scheme (The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme)

also search conflict diamonds that should bring up a list of suppliers who support is helping to stop the conflicts, therefore you can be sure the ring should you choose to go that route hasnt caused lots of deaths!

If not maybe just stick with a plain band?

Just get a really cool band with a design that she likes and just leave out the stones…

How about her birthstone or a stone from a conflict free area of the world (such as an emerald, sapphire or ruby) or create an original design free of stones that you design

If you are in the U.S.A. and would like to try your luck at panning for diamonds the is an active mine in Murfreesboro Arkansas definitely conflict free

Engagement rings need not always contain diamonds. Popular trends include using gemstones as sidestones as well as other precious stones.
