My gf doesn’t like the humanitarian issues surrounding the diamond trade. Does anyone know of some alternatives for engagement rings?

Does she take issue with other gems as well? If not, you could get her her birthstone in a nice setting….

you could do the stone for the month of your anniversary….I know they are “birth stones” for months, but you could use the same idea.

cubic zirconia? or synthetic diamond- they are prettier anyway. aquamarine is popular too.

That’s a difficult one…you could get her birthstone instead or you could get cubic zirconium which is a stone that looks like a diamond but is actually a lot cheaper.

Buy a cigar and give her the band off of it. None of her friends will have one like it. Call Bill Clinton and ask him for one of his, but you might want to clean it first.

She can always go with her birthstone, or a fake diamond like cubic zirconia or Ziamond. Ziamond is apparently so close to the real thing that many jewlers can’t tell them apart.

How much do u want to spend???????????? If that if money is not a problem then try her birth stone or try different kinds of her birth stone………. Like if her b-day is in Sept. try a pink sapher instand of blue. go to jtv.com and you can find GREAT deals.

You can try a cubic zirconium, but QVC has some really nice diamond simulated rings. They have them in white gold, yellow gold and ones with platinum clad. I just recently got really into QVC, and I wish sometimes that my husband would have just saved that $2000 from my ring and got me a cheaper ring from QVC. They have a lot of nice ones!!

Go to their website and look at Diamonique and Epiphany.

How about a synthetic diamond made in a lab. Note it is a real diamond, just not natural.

Or a sapphire, ruby, or emerald in a solitaire setting.

Engagement rings need not always contain diamonds. Popular trends include using gemstones as sidestones as well as other precious stones.
