Hello, my g/f is a massage therapist and therfore cannot wear her engagement ring on her finger during work. I would like to buy her a necklace/chain to hold and protect the diamond ring during work. What type of metal would be best to protect against scratching? What type of metal and/or chain type would provide maximum strength so that the necklace would not easily break? Same goes for the clasp type, what clasp type would provide maximum security? Basically, I’m looking for the best possible necklace to protect loss/theft of this large investment, thank you!

if the ring is gold, something like this will work.

silver, try stainless steel.
it wont rust.

Engagement rings need not always contain diamonds. Popular trends include using gemstones as sidestones as well as other precious stones.
