dont use clorox my friend tried that and the ring got screwed

Clorox is a bad idea to clean jewelry with. Either go back to the jeweller were the band was bought from and have them clean/polish it for you or use jewelry cleaner which are sold in supermarkets like Walmart.

If jewelry cleaner’s out of the question, then try some baking soda dissolved in warm water, and use a soft-bristled toothbrush or a clean cloth.
