Hello, my g/f is a massage therapist and therfore cannot wear her engagement ring on her finger during work. I would like to buy her a necklace/chain to hold and protect the diamond ring during work. What type of metal would be best to protect against scratching? What type of metal and/or chain type would provide maximum strength so that the necklace would not easily break? We have been dating for over 2 yrs. and have decided to take our relationship to the next level and get married. We have been looking at rings and I almost fell over at how much they cost. I found a great website for zircon engagement rings set in precious metals (white gold and platnium). I love them and he says he would be embarressed if anyone found that the ring was not real. I feel we should put the money towards the purchase of a home. Am I crazy for not wanting a real diamond?
