I have a 3 stone, diamond engagement ring. Large stone in the middle with slightly smaller diamonds on each side. They are 4 prong so the sides of the diamonds touch each other. I smashed my hand against the shower door, I was trying to save the soap from falling.

Well now I have a “hairline crack” extending from the side of the large diamond into the middle. It is still one piece but it looks like a hairline crack.

What can I do? Will it stay together, do I have to replace it?
SINCE MY DIAMONDS TOUCH EACH OTHER I THINK IT WAS THE COMBINATION OF ME HITTING THE DOOR AND THE TWO DIAMONDS POITENTIALLY HITTING EACH OTHER? MAYBE THEY WERE LOOSE? I KNOW DIAMOND CAN CRACK DIAMOND.
IT ALSO IS A REAL DIAMOND, WE BOUGHT IT TOGETHER AT KAY JEWELERS. ITS FUNNY HOW PEOPLE COMMENT WHEN THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT

Engagement rings need not always contain diamonds. Popular trends include using gemstones as sidestones as well as other precious stones.
