I have a 1ct. diamond engagement ring that I have no use for. Would it be possible and cost efficient to purchase another matching loose diamond solitaire and have them both set into round stud earrings? Is this something a jeweler would be willing to do? If so, how much should I expect to spend for white gold, screwback settings and the labor? Thanks for your help and suggestions!

I found a great website for zircon engagement rings set in precious metals (white gold and platnium). I love them and he says he would be embarressed if anyone found that the ring was not real. I feel we should put the money towards the purchase of a home. Am I crazy for not wanting a real diamond?
